EMI / RFI Shielding
An EMI shielding glass is an optically transparent,
electrically conductive barrier that significantly reduces the amount of
electro-magnetic radiation that might pass through it. These shielding glasses
are commonly surrounded by non-transparent barriers that are more effective EMI
shields, but do not offer the optical transmission needed to allow visible
light to pass through the barrier.
The combination of high light transmission, near-neutral color
and low electrical resistance makes this glass an ideal EMI/RFI shield for
electronic displays requiring moderate shielding effectiveness and high-quality
optical properties. A coating of 8 to 12 ohms/sq has been chosen to provide a
good balance between shielding and optical performance. Coatings greater than
20 ohms/sq lack shielding effectiveness and lower ohm/sq coatings have reduced
light transmission and increased light reflection.
EMI/RFI-shielded glass is suited for outdoor use and
provides excellent shielding performance from 10 KHz up to 40 GHz. In addition
the coating has good scratch-resistant properties. EMI Shielded Glass can be
used to screen the Radiofrequency waves in equipment of many electronic
dispositive: avionics monitor, military displays, hospital MRI room, military
shelter, confidence o intelligence room windows, nuclear control room plant,
etc.
Our EMI/RFI-shielded glass is a float glass with a
conductive coating on one side to prevent EMI/RFI and provides a good balance
between shielding and optical clarity.
